Volunteer Stewards

Our army of volunteer stewards are the backbone of the festival

Don’t take our word for it – here’s just some of the feedback we get about our amazing team!

“Laid back great stewards”

“Friendly stewards as always”

“Once again, the organisation of the whole of the festival was very good and a big thank you to all those people who organised it all throughout the year and all the volunteer stewards”

“The stewards were all really friendly and helpful”

“The stewards are cheerful and kind”

“The volunteers were incredibly helpful and polite. They can make or break a festival experience, but as usual, they made it”

“Stewards always friendly and helpful as ever”

“The volunteer staff and tidy up teams were amazing”

“Very helpful volunteers in the Pandemonium! tent to assist with children’s activities”

Volunteering in 2026

Applications for stewarding in 2026 are now open! If you would like to apply, please click on the link below to complete the form. Please read the terms and conditions carefully, even if you have stewarded with us before, as they may have changed.

In January, we’ll prioritise applications from 2025 volunteers until the end of the month. In February, returning volunteers from other years will be processed and then, from the beginning of March, we will fill any gaps with new applicants, who have relevant experience and/or late-applying returners.

On completion of your application,  you will see a confirmation page that it has been successfully submitted and an email confirmation (please check your junk / trash folders). You will be contacted in due course regarding the outcome of your application so there’s no need to contact us. Thanks for your interest in stewarding at Shrewsbury Folk Festival.
