Windsor Morris first danced out in 1975 and is one of the finest women’s Morris teams in the world. They are easily spotted in their sparkling white kit, with contrasting splashes of green, red and yellow on their rosettes and ribbons.
They have developed their dances from those collected from the Cotswold villages of Badby and Brackley, aiming to dance in a lively and energetic manner. They like to create new dances and are keeping morris dancing alive in the 21st century by adapting it: they now have our own tradition of ‘Windsor on Thames’.
