Join fine musicians and old friends James & Saul for two sets of exquisitely delivered traditional folk tunes & songs and a ceilidh at this year’s Shrewsbury Folk Festival where they’ll be joined by Dave Delarre.
The pair celebrated their recent reunion with a new record in November 2023. The title of this, their second album, is Kith and Kin, is a nod towards their enduring friendship and expanding families.
The duo intertwine seamlessly; dancing around the tunes between the notes, finding space and air, and breathing fresh life and energy into the music.
With the timeless combination of fiddle and box, James (Topette!!, Mawkin) and Saul (Faustus, Eliza Carthy & The Wayward Band, Waterson:Carthy, Whapweasel) have been making music together since they first met at Sidmouth Folk Festival in 2007 and played in Morris Offspring.
Their debut album, Cabin Fever, came out back in 2014. The duo toured the UK before taking a break to focus on their young families. The break extended into a longer hiatus due to the global pandemic; the pair are now well and truly back on the scene and loving every minute.
