Mary Black is delighted to be coming to the Shrewsbury Folk Festival on August 26th.
She has just completed a sold out tour of Ireland which celebrated the 40th anniversary of her first solo album and is looking forward to adding a few more dates this summer.
During her long career Mary has become a dominant presence in Irish music, both at home and abroad. As an award-winning artist with multiple chart topping and critically acclaimed albums, Mary has recorded and performed alongside many world famous artists including Emmylou Harris, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Joan Baez, Van Morrison and many more.
Having received an Honorary Doctorate in Literature from University College Dublin last year, Mary was also honoured to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards.
