For 2015, we’re offering you the chance to get creative and design the festival’s commemorative t-shirt.

Open to 2015 ticket holders only, the prize will be a free 2015 t-shirt and a free ticket to SFF in 2016 as well as that warm, fuzzy feeling you’ll get when you see people wearing the top you designed!

Email your design to competition@shrewsburyfolkfestival.co.uk, clearly marked ‘T-shirt competition’ by March 31 – it needs to be in a Word or PDF format.

All we ask is that no more than 3 colours are used and that the words Shrewsbury Folk Festival 2015 feature somewhere. Don’t forget to include your name and telephone number in case we need to contact you.

Children’s competition 

If you’re looking for something to keep the kids amused, this could be the answer! We’ll be selling a Shrewsbury Folk Festival tea towel this year and would like our younger visitors to have a hand in designing it.

As with the t-shirt, fewer colours and a simple design work best for reproduction but we would like them to design a tea towel that reflects what they enjoy about the festival. The prize will be the chance to enjoy a free meal on us (meal vouchers for up to a family of 4), a selection of free festival merchandise and the child’s name on the finished product.

Please send entries to competition@shrewsburyfolkfestival.co.uk, clearly marked ‘Teatowel competition’ by March 31 in a Word or PDF format.

Again, use no more than 3 colours and the design should feature the words Shrewsbury Folk Festival somewhere. Don’t forget to include the name and age of the child and contact details for an appropriate adult in case we need to get in touch.

* The winners of both competitions will be notified by email and publicised in a future emailout and on social networks.

 

 

For the past seven years, we have raised money for the music therapy service at Hope House Hospice which supports children with life limiting illnesses and their families. We are really pleased that you helped to raise more than £5,000 during this year’s festival.

This year, the hospice received £5,181 made up of a donation from festival organisers for every adult weekend ticket sold, a collection by the charity’s volunteers at the festival, payments for charging mobile phones and other electrical equipment, a Hope House stall at the festival and direct donations from viewers of the online webcast.

Since our charity partnership began, the festival has generated more than £37,000 for music therapy sessions at the hospice, thanks to your generosity

Festival Director Sandra Surtees said she was delighted with the success of the ongoing partnership.

“Music is at the heart of what we do and it brings great pleasure to so some many people during the course of the weekend. We are delighted that our visitors have taken Hope House and its work to their hearts and continue to support it year on year. We look forward to welcoming Hope House back in 2015.”

Hope House Fundraising Manager Vanessa Thomas said: “We are so grateful for the support of Shrewsbury Folk Festival as it helps our music therapy service continue. Music benefits children in many forms and can sometimes be an important way for children to make themselves heard.

“We want to thank everyone who has supported us with a donation – their money makes a real difference and helps to enrich the lives of the children who use the music therapy service.”
